Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Train-the-Trainer Class

This class will certify participants as official SAP trainers for the California Emergency Management Agency.  Course will cover best practices, and will review SAP Evaluator and SAP Coordinator elements.  Students will need to bring a pen, and be prepared to provide their own lunch.   The class is free.

 

California Emergency Management Agency Safety Assessment Program (SAP)
Workshop participants who possess a U.S. Professional Engineer's license; complete the CalEMA Registration Form; and have your photo taken at the workshop will be eligible to be registered as California Emergency Management Agency Safety Assessment Program Trainer.  The Safety Assessment Program utilizes volunteers and mutual aid resources to provide professional engineers and architects and certified building inspectors to assist local governments in safety evaluation of their built environment in an aftermath of a disaster. The program is managed by CalEMA with cooperation from professional organizations. SAP produces two resources, SAP Evaluators and TRAINERS, described above, and SAP Coordinators, which are local government representatives that coordinate the program. CalEMA issues registration ID cards to all SAP Evaluators that have successfully completed the program requirements. Training for this program is now eligible for Homeland Security Grant Program funding.
